The spin department is spearheaded by Nonkululeko Mlaba, while the seam attack is led by Masabata Klaas and Tumi Sekhukhune, offering a well-rounded bowling unit suited to various conditions.
Rising Stars & Debutants
Karabo Meso, just 17, earns a maiden call-up as a wicket-keeper batter, bringing youthful energy after featuring in two U19 Women’s T20 World Cups. Nondumiso Shangase, also making her first World Cup appearance, joins new faces Anneke Bosch, Nadine de Klerk, and Annerie Dercksen, injecting excitement and fresh talent into the core squad.
Pre-Tournament Preparation

Analysis & Outlook
Batting Strength
The squad reflects a strategy built around continuity and consistent performers. Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits form one of the most productive opening pairs in women’s ODIs, combining for over 1,270 runs since the 2022 World Cup at an average of nearly 53 per partnership.
All-Round Depth
South Africa’s depth in all-round options is a standout—veterans such as Kapp, Luus, Tryon, and de Klerk give the side flexibility and match-winning potential across formats.
Bowling Adaptability
Mlaba leads a crafty spin attack suited to subcontinental pitches, supported by Luus and Tryon, who can chip in with leg-spin or orthodox overs as needed. The pacers, headed by Klaas and Sekhukhune, are supported by bowling all-rounders, ensuring Wolvaardt has several new-ball options.
