The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a historic increase in prize money for the 13th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka. This marks a landmark moment for women’s cricket globally.

The winning team will receive $4.48 million (≈ ₹39.5 crore), a staggering 239% increase from the $1.32 million awarded in 2022. The runners-up will earn $2.24 million (≈ ₹19.7 crore), up 273% from the $600,000 prize England won three years ago.
The losing semi-finalists will take home $1.12 million (≈ ₹9.9 crore each). Teams finishing fifth and sixth will earn $700,000 (≈ ₹6.2 crore each), while seventh and eighth place teams will receive $280,000 (≈ ₹2.5 crore each).
Even the group stage participants are guaranteed $250,000 (≈ ₹2.2 crore), and each group-stage win will bring in an additional $34,314 (≈ ₹0.3 crore).
ICC Chairman Jay Shah said, “This announcement marks a defining milestone in the journey of women’s cricket. This four-fold increase in prize money reflects our commitment to the long-term growth of the women’s game.”
